Shri Dharmaraya Swamy Temple is one of the oldest and most renowned Hindu temples in the city of Bangalore, Karnataka, India.
The Dharmaraya Swamy Temple was constructed over 800 years ago by the Vahni Kula Kshatriyas, tracing its origins back to the Chalukya dynasty. A stone inscription found in Hottal Taluk, Nanded district, Maharashtra, mentions King Someshwara in relation to the temple's history.
The community continued to thrive in Bengaluru as one of the region's oldest social groups. They were primarily an agricultural community, known for cultivating the soil and growing vegetables and flowers.
The temple showcases architectural elements from the Western Ganga dynasty, the Pallava dynasty, and the Vijayanagara Empire.
