Galaganath is a small village situated near Haveri, in the Haveri District of Karnataka. The village is home to the renowned Galageshwar Shiva Temple.
Built during the rule of the Western Chalukyas, this grand temple faces east and is located along the Tungabhadra River, where the Tunga and Varada rivers converge at Galaganath.
Galaganath, formerly known as Palluni, is home to the Galageshwar Temple, a fine example of Chalukya architecture, built around the 11th century. Sri Venkatesh Galaganath (Kadambari Pitamaha), who worshipped at the Galageshwar Temple, is also said to have written his novels on the temple premises.
The temple faces east and is located along the Tungabhadra River. It houses a large Shiva Linga in a closed hall, known as the Sparsha Linga.
