Halasi (also spelled Halsi or Halshi, and historically known as Halasige or Palasige) is a town in the Khanapur Taluk of Belgaum District, Karnataka, India. It is located 14 km from Khanapur and approximately 25 km from Kittur.
The ancient name of the town, as recorded in inscriptions, was Palāśikā. It was a center of the early Kadamba Dynasty (around 500 AD) and served as a minor capital of the Goa Kadambas from 980 to 1025.
The town is renowned for its series of medieval temples, with the most famous being the Varāha Narasiṃha Temple, the Suvarṇeśvara Temple, and the Rāmeśvara Temple. Additionally, about 1.9 km southwest of the town, there is a pilgrimage site known as Rāmatītha, located on a hill.
The primary evidence of early Palāśikā is a series of copper plates discovered in the 1850s at a site previously known as Cakratīrtha.
