The Ishvara Temple, also known as the Ishwara or Isvara Temple, is an early 13th-century Hindu temple located in Arsikere, Hassan district, Karnataka, India. It is dedicated to Lord Shiva.
The Ishvara Temple is one of the most notable examples of early Hoysala architecture, featuring a unique rotating circular plan, a domed mandapa with a 16-point star shape, a pancatala vimana, and an array of artwork depicting various scenes.
The Ishvara Temple was part of a complex of many Hindu temples in Arsikere. However, most of these temples and their artwork were destroyed or mutilated in the 14th century or later. The Ishvara Temple, along with others, suffered significant damage during this period.
A simpler and more damaged double temple (Shivalaya) still survives to the immediate north of the Ishvara Temple, within the current compond.
