Sri Karinjeshwara Temple (Kannada: ಕಾರಿಂಜೇಶ್ವರ Kārin̄jēśvara) is a renowned Hindu temple dedicated to Lord Shiva, located in Karinja, Bantwala Taluk, Kavalamudur Village.
Located in Dakshina Kannada, Karnataka, India, the Sri Karinjeshwara Temple is situated atop Karinja Hill, about 1,000 feet above sea level in the Kodyamale Hills.
The temple can be reached by climbing approximately 600 steps. It consists of two parts: one dedicated to Lord Shiva, situated on top of a cliff, and the other to Goddess Parvati and Lord Ganesha.
A unique ritual at the temple involves offering rice to the monkeys, known as the Vanara (Monkey) Anna (Rice) Seva. The leader of the simian group, often referred to as Karinja Dadda, takes the first bite.
