The Kasivisvesvara Temple (Kannada: ಕಾಶಿವಿಶ್ವೇಶ್ವರ ದೇವಸ್ಥಾನ), also known as Kavatalesvara, Kashivishveshvara, or Kashi Vishvanatha Temple, is located in Lakkundi, in the Gadag district of Karnataka, India.
The Kasivisvesvara Temple is located about 12 kilometers (7.5 miles) from Gadag city, situated between Hampi and Goa. It is considered one of the finest examples of the fully developed Kalyana Chalukya style of Hindu architecture.
The Kasivisvesvara Temple features two sanctums facing each other, both sharing a common mandapa. The larger sanctum is dedicated to Shiva, while the smaller one is dedicated to Surya.
The temple is notable not only for its three-dimensional miniature reliefs and intricate details in the artwork, but also, as James Harle states, for its architectural significance.
