Sree Koodalmanikyam Temple, located in Irinjalakuda within Kerala's Thrissur district, is a unique Hindu shrine dedicated to Lord Bharata, the brother of Lord Rama.
The temple's annual festival, commencing on the Uthram star of the Malayalam month of Medam (April-May) and concluding on Thiruvonam day, is a significant cultural event. The festival features traditional art forms, elephant processions, and concludes with the auspicious Thiruvonam.
Believed to have been established before the 15th century, the temple is renowned for its traditional Kerala architectural style.
Notable features include intricate wood and stone carvings, a circular sanctum sanctorum with a copper-plated roof, and expansive temple ponds. The eastern gateway (gopuram) is an impressive structure and is a protected monument of the Archaeological Department.
