Tantondreeswara Temple is a historic temple situated in Nedungadu, in the Karaikal district of the Puducherry Union Territory. It was built by the Chola dynasty.

The temple is dedicated to Lord Shiva. Since 1971, it has been recognized as a protected monument. In 1959, the idols of Nataraja, Sivagamasundari, and Manikkavacakar were stolen from the temple. Fortunately, the Nataraja idol was recovered 15 days later and was subsequently reinstated.

Tantondreeswara Temple was built by the Chola rulers and is dedicated to the main deity, Tantondreeswara (Lord Shiva). The area of Nedungadu derives its name from Nedunthuyar Theertha Nayaki.

Her name signifies "the one who redressed the long grievances of the people," reflecting her role as the consort of Tantondreeswara.
