The Payammal Shatrughna Temple, located in Payammal village within Kerala's Thrissur district, is a unique Hindu shrine dedicated to Lord Shatrughna, the youngest brother of Lord Rama.
This temple holds the distinction of being one of the few in India devoted exclusively to Lord Shatrughna.
Believed to have been established centuries ago, the temple showcases traditional Kerala architectural style, featuring a square-shaped sanctum sanctorum (garba griha) and intricate wood carvings.
The original idol was made of Panchaloha (a five-metal alloy), but the current deity is crafted from granite.
