The Pazhavangadi Maha Ganapathy Temple is located at East Fort in the heart of Thiruvananthapuram City, Kerala, India. The temple is dedicated to the main deity, Sri Mahaganapathy (Ganesha).
The main idol of the Pazhavangadi Maha Ganapathy Temple is depicted in a seated posture, with the right leg folded. Located near the Sri Padmanabhaswamy Temple, this temple also honors other deities, including Dharmasasta, Goddess Durga, and Nagaraja. Notably, the temple features sculptures representing 32 different forms of Lord Ganesha.
The original idol of the Pazhavangadi Maha Ganapathy Temple was initially maintained by the Nair Brigade at Padmanabhapuram. Later, when the brigade was relocated to Thiruvananthapuram, the idol was also moved to its current location.
The Nair Brigade installed the idol, leading to the establishment of the current temple. Following the integration of the Travancore army with the Indian Forces, the temple has been maintained by the Indian Army.
