Sri Arulmigu Ramanathaswamy Temple, located on Rameswaram Island in Tamil Nadu, is a prominent Hindu temple dedicated to Lord Shiva. Over time, various rulers contributed to the temple's development, including the Jaffna kings of the Pandya Dynasty and Maratha kings of Thanjavur, who established rest houses for pilgrims. Additionally, villages such as Pappakudi, Anandur, and Urasur were donated to the temple, ensuring its sustained growth and importance as a pilgrimage site. Today, the Ramanathaswamy Temple remains a testament to the rich history and spiritual devotion that defines Rameswaram.
