The Udupi Sri Krishna Temple, also known as Udupi Sri Krishna Matha, is a renowned Hindu temple located in Udupi, Karnataka.
Established in the 13th century by the Vaishnavite saint Madhvacharya, the temple is dedicated to Lord Krishna and is a significant pilgrimage site in Southern India.
The temple is celebrated for its unique Kanakana Kindi, a small window through which devotees view the deity. This tradition is linked to the saint Kanakadasa, who was granted a vision of Lord Krishna through this window.
The temple complex also houses eight monasteries, known as Ashta Mathas, each established by Madhvacharya's direct disciples.
