The Sri Sita Ramachandraswamy Temple is a revered Hindu temple dedicated to Lord Rama, a prominent avatar of the god Vishnu. Situated on the banks of the Godavari River, the temple is located in the town of Bhadrachalam in eastern Telangana.
Often referred to as Bhadrachalam, Bhadragiri, or Bhadradri, the temple is recognized as one of the Divya Kshetrams of the Godavari region and is also honored as Dakshina Ayodhya.
The central icon of the temple depicts Vaikuntha Rama, portrayed with four arms, representing the form of Vishnu that appeared in response to Bhadra's prayers. Accompanying him are his consort Sita and his brother Lakshmana, who are integral parts of the central icon.
According to various accounts, the Bhadrachalam temple was either built or significantly repaired by the legendary Bhakti saint Kancherla Gopanna, also known as Bhadrachala Ramadasu, in the 17th century.
