This temple, situated on a small hill, was once worshipped by the Muthuvan tribal community. It was later closed for an extended period, but upon witnessing its deteriorating condition, members of the Travancore royal family renovated the temple during their summer visits to Munnar. Previously, the Nambudiris held the tantric rights to the temple.
The annual festival 'Thrikarthika' is celebrated in the Malayalam month of Vrischikam (November to December). Additionally, the day of Uthram asterism in Meenam (March to April) is also observed as an important festival.
Sri Subramanya Temple is a Hindu temple situated in Munnar, Idukki district, in the Indian state of Kerala. The principal deity of the temple is Lord Muruga.
Three poojas are conducted daily at the temple: 'Usha pooja' in the morning, 'Ucha pooja' at noon, and 'Attazha pooja' in the evening.
